I became interested in leather work a few years ago after attending a 4-H Leather craft Project enrichment day with my son. The little bit I learned that day, has turned into a passion for the craft. I have since made it my mission to learn an old and unique style of leather carving called “Sheridan Style.” Sheridan Style Carving gets its name from the city of Sheridan, Wyoming, where saddle makers and leather craftsmen have been developing this unique art for several decades. It is unique in that the style of pattern typically features a floral pattern that flows in a series of overlapping or interlaced circles. This flow tends to capture the eye and draw the attention to the details of the carving.
